Monday, June 12th to Friday, June 16th

This week, the students were engaged in The Andrew Sibbald Summer Games. Throughout the week, they took part in a variety of challenges where they worked together in a different physical tasks. They showed positive teamwork as they encouraged one another to achieve a common goal. We were excited to finish off the week with our pancake breakfast and sports day.

Monday, June 19th to Friday, June 23rd

Despite the rain, the grade fours had a fantastic time on our field trip to Heritage Park. It was wonderful to experience all of our learning in Social Studies first hand. We sheltered from the rain in a tipi, felt beaver pelts as we learned about the fur trade and rode a train like the ones that helped to make settlement in the West possible. Seeing the first settler homes, the "soddies", homes that housed families with sixteen children and sandstone buildings helped the students to better understand what life was like for early settlers. Most are happy that they are able to go to a school with hundreds of students and one grade per classroom rather than a one room schoolhouse of the past!

Monday, May 22nd to Friday, May 26th

It was a very exciting day at Andrew Sibbald today. It is hard to believe that today the school participated in its 19th Big Brave Event. It was incredible to see so many students participating this year. The students were able to raise over $73 000 for The Big Brave. Today's event was such a fantastic celebration of the students hard work. Their efforts will help to send over 500 children to Camp Kindle. A huge thank you to all the families who helped to make this event a success.
